That [burnout happens] because you feel like your work <em>didn\u2019t mean anything<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God: <\/em>(nods) Which is <em>exactly what [you had been told]<\/em>. That you\u2019d done everything <em>incorrectly<\/em>. \u2026 In other words, \u201cyeah, <em>none of your work mattered<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you were given two lies, <em>[without other voices having room to speak into your life]:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201cYour work doesn\u2019t matter\u201d<\/strong>: \u2026 In other words: \u201cJoshua, I don\u2019t believe <em>anything you contribute in this world <strong>matters<\/strong><\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second one is just as deadly: <strong>\u201cYou are wrong about what matters\u201d.<\/strong> You thought you knew. <em>[You were told] you didn\u2019t<\/em>.
