But the problems aren\u2019t in the lies you are aware of and have healed from, but in the ones you still don\u2019t know are actually <em>lies<\/em>. I want to free you from five of them, <em>right now<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default\">1. <strong>Your responsibility is to make sure your client\/boss has no complaints about your work<\/strong>. That <em>sounds<\/em> like wisdom; but when it comes to micromanagement, <strong><em>it creates extreme toxicity<\/em><\/strong>. And you got used to some micromanagement: projects changed without your input, no room for discussion but just obedience, <em>so many iterations with no clear end in sight and demand for more<\/em>. You\u2019re in an exchange of <em>services<\/em>, work for dollars, and it is OKAY to say \u201cthis change isn\u2019t worth it\u201d based on your and the client\u2019s needs, or else increase cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>[God and I discuss the source of that lie]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. <strong>You have no ownership in your work<\/strong>. Only in a toxic work environment. You got used to your work being <em>trampled<\/em>, and for it to have no semblance to what you originally <em>created<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua:<\/em> God, is it okay if I respond to that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> (nods)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua:<\/em> I <em>don\u2019t<\/em> have any ownership in my work! If I\u2019m getting paid for it, it\u2019s not mine! None of my input matters; [\u2026] None of my work <em>actually matters<\/em>, just <em>what they do with it<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> (shakes his head) \u201cNone of your work matters\u201d. That\u2019s what you just said. Then why are they paying you for it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua:<\/em> Because they don\u2019t want to do it themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> (shakes his head) Because they want <em>you<\/em> to do it. There are plenty of ways not to do things yourself. For example\u2026 by not doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you realize that what you are saying is \u201cno leader cares about their following, only about the vision\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua:<\/em> But that\u2019s true! It\u2019s ALL ABOUT THE VISION!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> Hmm. Let\u2019s go to the third lie:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. <strong>A vision is separate from those meeting it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua: <\/em>Totally true! There\u2019s a reason why we have altars: <em>to throw ourselves onto them<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> NO. [\u2026] <em>I became the sacrifice in place of YOU<\/em>. Altars aren\u2019t made for <em>you to die<\/em>, but for <em>you to live<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are a \u201cliving sacrifice\u201d. Don\u2019t forget the \u201cliving\u201d part. That\u2019s an important part. I\u2019m not looking for you to be a dead sacrifice. <strong><em>I want for you to be FULLY ALIVE<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To finish 3: the vision <em>has to include those who are helping build it<\/em>. If it <em>doesn\u2019t<\/em>, what are you doing? I don\u2019t merely send disciples out to build up the body of Christ for others\u2014<em>they\u2019re part of the body of Christ as well!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua:<\/em> \u2026That\u2019s true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> Yes it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. <strong>If a work is unto God, sacrificing yourself unto it will be rewarded<\/strong>. Tell Saul that, when he <em>disobeyed me and Samuel spoke<\/em>, \u201cTo obey is better than sacrifice\u201d. Sacrifice unto a work <em>I am not leading you into<\/em> doesn\u2019t make it <strong><em>reward-worthy<\/em><\/strong>. I regretted making Saul king, <strong><em>because he acted IN FEAR OF MEN rather than IN HONOR OF ME<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. <strong>Honor is silence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua: <\/em>Well, duh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> (shakes head) I said that is a <em>lie<\/em>. Honor is not silence. Silence may be <em>honor<\/em>, in some cases, <em>but not always<\/em>. [You were] taught \u201cthose who disagree with leadership are acting against it\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is <em>a lie<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Joshua:<\/em> Well\u2026 we all have to be <em>on the same boat<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>God:<\/em> (shakes head) If I don\u2019t command you to be on the boat, <strong><em>being on it is disobedience<\/em><\/strong>. This is part of why <em>if people say nothing, YOU TAKE IT AS AGREEMENT<\/em>. Speaking up is good. <em>Wisdom for the right time is also important<\/em>. You can honor someone exceedingly and argue. <strong><em>Honor is not silence<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[\u2026]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[Now] break these lies in Jesus\u2019s name.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>God: You\u2019ve healed a lot from past [\u2026] experiences.
