God: You have been taught there is no such thing as “a 10”. If I can do above and beyond what you can ask or think, can you think of a 10? And if you can’t, can I still hit it?
“No task will be a 10 out of 10” or “no result will satisfy you 10 out of 10”. Do I not satisfy you with good things?
Trust me to hit 10 out of 10. I am not limited to 9.5 out of it. “Nobody’s perfect” except “Be perfect, as your heavenly father is perfect”. I am perfect. I am moving you into the ability to fulfill my calling for you in its fullest measure.
Disbelieving in the 10 out of 10. It sounds like wisdom. This belief that “it will never be perfect”. Ask me what my definition for “perfect” is. I have knowledge of perfection; but I have goals. Your definition of perfect is “I can think of nothing with room for improvement”. I can always think of improvement, and I live in you. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t good enough. Can’t something be “perfect” for its purpose?
I have talked with you about “perfect” as your culture defines it. Scoring is helpful for your analysis, but understand that if I can do above or beyond what you can ask or think, your 10 is nothing to me.
Your 10 is insulting in its claims of grandeur. I can do more. Your 10 is below my baseline. I can do above and beyond.
And I want to do it in you, with you, through you.
Joshua: What about “for me”?
God: If I do it in you, with you, through you, I most certainly do it for you. But it is for other people as well.
Ask me to exceed the 10. Your 10 is below my baseline anyway.
