About Today God Taught Me
The series started in May 2025 as a TikTok vlog. I shared what God was teaching me in my personal relationship with him, sometimes in goofy costumes to help illustrate a point. I wanted the content to be personal, while hopefully avoiding preaching at people.

This blog is made up of journal entries from my personal prayer times with God. They’re edited to remove peoples’ names, identifying information, and some overly personal data, but the heart of the entries is there. Certainly not every journal entry will make it up here, but I’ll share as I feel led to. More information on how to approach the journal entries can be found here.
My main goal is that people are encouraged to pursue God’s guidance in their own lives and start to receive personal direction from him.
About Me
My name is Joshua Powlison! I was born late 1994 in southeast Michigan.
I’ve been a Christian my whole life. But until I was about 20 years old, I thought “personal relationship with God” was just another way of saying “God’s watching, quit messing up”. I thought I had it all together, but it’s obvious to me now that I was extremely broken.
As I’ve begun to walk in an actual personal relationship with God, I’ve been able to heal, walk into success and dreams I didn’t expect to, and find joy in life again.
For work, I’m a video game programmer with a background in entertainment and IT.
