Jesus: What will happen if you make a mistake? I’ll tell you: I’ll correct.

You keep thinking “things will explode, then God will correct”. Is that the model that I have in Scripture?

I always let people know “things will explode if you keep going in this direction”. Then I give many chances to turn back. I am not the God of “I told you so”, I am the God of “I tell you”.

I tell you what is happening, where you need to change your way, and when you make a mistake, I help you get back on your feet.

I am a God of mercy. I certainly correct, but not before letting you know.

You think any failure in your life must be a correction. Not everything that goes wrong, is because you did something wrong. If that were true, I must have sinned greatly to be crucified. But I didn’t. It was part of the plan. It is true that in this world you will have trouble, but take heart.

Why? Not because you’re capable to get out. Not because you’re backed up with resources to protect you. Not even because hope is a good thing.

Because I have overcome the world.

When you have trouble, I have no issue letting you know if it is your fault. But you don’t have to make it your fault, if it wasn’t your fault. That’s not walking in truth. Truth is acknowledging what is real.

Don’t take heart because of some vague moral obligation. Ask me to show you how I have overcome already. That is how you take heart.

Take heart. I have overcome the world.
